Getting Started with AutoScanix

Here's how to connect your scanner — step by step

It only takes a few minutes. You don't need any tools or prior
knowledge. Follow the steps at your own pace and you'll be up and running in no time.

Before You Begin

Sit in the car and turn the key to the ignition position — the same position where the dashboard lights up — but without starting the engine.

So you don't need to start the car. It's enough for the power to be on.

Step 1 — Find your car's OBD2 port

Every car has a small port that the scanner plugs into. It's usually located under the steering wheel, near your knees.

On some cars it's hidden behind a small flap. Have a look around the steering column and you'll find it.

Can't find it? Send us your car model and we'll show you exactly where it is.

Step 2 — Download the app

AutoScanix works together with a free app on your phone. This is how the device shows you your car's information.

The app is called Car Scanner. Download it free of charge:

Good to know: The app is free and used by millions of car owners worldwide. It costs nothing extra — you'll never pay a fee to use your AutoScanix.

Step 3 — Select your car in the app

Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your car.

Can't find your exact car model? No problem — it won't affect how the scanner works.

Just select the top option in the list, and everything will work as it should.

Step 4 — Connect via Bluetooth

Inside the app, go to Connection Settings and select Bluetooth.

Important, and this makes it easier for you:

  • You don't need to look for the scanner in your phone's regular Bluetooth settings.
  • You don't need to pair anything manually.
  • The app handles the entire connection for you. Everything happens inside the app.

Step 5 — Wait while it connects

  • Now plug the AutoScanix scanner into the port you found in Step 1.

  • The connection usually takes 1–2 minutes the first time. This is completely normal — just be a little patient while the app and scanner find each other.

  • Once they're paired, you'll have full access to all the features. You can read fault codes, check your car's condition, and clear warning lights.
